Years ago when I started on a novel manuscript (which is on the back burner), I once read an article with several authors' tips about writing. And one author, who unfortunately I forgot his name, said he gets over writer's block by editing what he previously wrote, and then it moves him to keep writing. This works so well for me. I just go back a couple of pages or to the beginning of the last chapter I wrote and go from there.

Just start writing. Don't worry about the rough draft. Just get it done. You will edit it at least twenty times until it becomes the manuscript you want. Save up money so you can hire an editor. Look into self-publishing. Pray for inspiration if you believe, the Holy Spirit will help you.

During quarantine, I wanted to write a story for my nieces and nephews to pass the time. But as things got worse in the world, I realized I had become complacent in my walk with Jesus. What had I been doing? I asked for forgiveness and became renewed in my spirit. I wanted to do something for the Lord that would honor him. And just like that, ideas started flowing for my story and it took a whole other direction than I had originally planned. I know this was God. I was led to self-publish. And so I followed my calling.
