Since I was quite small I've had an irrational fear of slugs and snails. It's not because they're slimy, it's more than that. I am terrified of them and I have been since I saw the first one. No one in my family, much less myself, could account for why I'd become hysterical if one came close to me. My older brothers were instructed to never, ever chase me with a snail. I'm not sure what my parents told them would happen if they did. Whatever it was they got the message. However, that didn't stop them from chasing me with very large lizards and snakes they kept as pets. For some reason, the lizards and snakes didn't bother me at all. I determined that something happened in a past life that caused me to be terrified of the slimy things in this life. I'm pretty sure that I was thrown into a pit of snails that crawled all over me. I must have suffered a massive heart attack and died on the spot in that pit, because I have a very limited memory of that incident. I honestly don't know if I could write a book about this irrational fear. I'd be freaking out so much that it would take 10 years to complete the first draft.

Alice's Wonderland. Loved the story as a child, and have always wondered what it would be like to wander around Wonderland and meet the characters in the book. I'd like to be buddies with the White Rabbit.

Normally I don't experience writer's block; this year has been an exception. I have and it hasn't been pretty! The best way I deal with it is to set the manuscript aside and work on something else for a while. It's a good way to clear the brain's cobwebs. Then when you're ready to work on your manuscript again you can see it with fresh eyes.

Getting to explore places and scenarios I would never be able to in my own life. I get to live outside of myself.

Read, read, and when you're sick of reading, read some more. Read everything, get a taste for different writing styles, plotting, character development. If you're not comfortable taking a stab at writing on your own, take a writing course, take several. Then write, write, write. Courses will help you get started; the rest is up to you.

Right now I'm focused on marketing for The Wedding Dress Quilt. I have a few readings and signings set up in the Central Texas area and am looking for more.

I am always inspired to write. My biggest problem is finding dedicated time. Though I am retired from working a regular job, I have to squeeze in time to write. Not easy!

Since this is a series I have to answer this question starting with book one. I was flying in a hot air balloon through an strange fog hovering over White Sands, New Mexico. I thought how fantastic it would be if when we landed we found ourselves in the 19th century wild west of New Mexico. That's exactly what happened in book one. Book two follows Rachel's adventures as she makes a life for herself in a time and place not her own, and book three continues her adventures with her new family.
