Just keep writing. And find people you trust who are willing to read your work. I still consider myself an aspiring writer so feel I'm not in a great position to dish out feedback. But the best thing I think for new writers is to be able to take criticism. However you also need to know who to ask. Some people will simply give criticism because you've asked for it and will essentially poke holes where there aren't any, just so they can feel like they've done something. This is not useful. You need people who will break down your work and explain to you where you have gone wrong while also suggesting ways that you can improve.

I'll do pretty much anything that is in no way related to what I'm writing. The more I try to force it and make something come to mind, the more I lose it. Going for a long walk, watching a movie, cooking, cleaning... pretty much anything as long as it takes my mind as far away from writing as possible. Then usually, the ideas come flooding in.

Quite simply, the title. I was out walking, said "The Agonising Death of Waltham Pinchiksnits" and knew that I could make a story around that. It was initially "The Agonising Death of Waltham Pinchiksnits and Other Funny Stories" and it was going to be an anthology of weird and wonderful tales. However, all these stories ended up connecting and it became what it is today.

Honestly, there's nothing specific. It can be a scene from a film, a tiny scenario in a game or story. Usually it's something small that I see somewhere and think 'well that's not how I would have done it.' In the case of "The Agonising Death of Waltham Pinchiksnits" I was out walking one day when that title popped into my head. I found it so bizarre and amusing that I had to go home straight away and begin writing it.

I'm currently working on a few things. I have the sequel to "The Agonising Death of Waltham Pinchiksnits" however I also have a four part series set in space. These are far shorter books that I am hoping to publish intermittently through the coming year. I also have various side projects including two podcasts and a feature length script. Something I am hoping to shoot within the next couple of years.

It would have to be Middle Earth. Sounds like a cliche but that was the first, epic I ever read and has inspired so many fantasy authors (not to mention getting a fairly decent trilogy of movies.) It's such a wonderfully creative world and the influence it has had on the genre is unparalleled.
