Caryl McAdoo I'd go to Bodie Thoene's Zion Covenant Israel where I would breathe and walk and marvel at the wonder of being there where Jesus walked.
Caryl McAdoo Hello, Cindy!
Thanks for the question! Since a night owl, I often sleep late, pas 9 or 10. after coffee and a small breakfast, I go straight to the computer to write if I haven't got something else pressing. I usually write around a thousand words a day on my WIP, and then I usually don't go back to that again until the next day. Rarely I will, but not often. This usually gets me about 10K words per week and 40K a month--a nice novella or a third of a new novel!
Blessings! Caryl
Caryl McAdoo One lady, and I use the word graciously, posted a one-star review on one of my books, stating she never read the novel. How can she offer such a poor rating or review for a book she hasn't even read?
Caryl McAdoo Glaring with unadulterated hate, the demon charged with its clawed fist raised toward the man and cackled, "You have no hope!" The sinner glance across the street to the church, but boards nailed at odd angles covered its windows, graffiti painted its walls, and it held no Christians to stand in the gap or pray for him.
Caryl McAdoo Aww, thanks so much, Kim! It hasn't gotten the readership I'd expected, but I also think getting books 2 and 3 written and out there will HELP. One grandmother read it again when it ended because she didn't want it to be over! Twice in one day, she said :) What fun! Book two is started, but historical romances keep calling my name :) BLESSINGS and THANKS for the reviews!
Caryl McAdoo DAUGHTERS OF THE HEART just released September 1, and the idea came from what I figured would be the natural response of obedient daughters who loved their father after seeing firsthand how their oldest sister broke his heart by eloping without Daddy's blessing in book four, SINS OF THE MOTHERS. As that story left off, the eldest sister still at home, eighteen year old Gwendolyn, is coming of the age to be courted, and leads the pact made between herself and younger sisters (Cecelia, seventeen, and Bonnie, twelve) never to break Daddy's heart through rebellion.
Caryl McAdoo All I have to do is wake up...and a cup of coffee is good. But God's love is my inspiration, and He is always right there every new day full of lovingkindness toward me. He gives me my stories!
Caryl McAdoo This usually changes month to month, but presently, on this 6th day of September, 2015, I'm writing on CHILDREN OF EBER, volume four of The Generations Biblical fiction series. It's scheduled to debut in November of this year, so l have about a month or less to finish it so it can go into its editing and proofreading process :) Oh the joys of self-imposed deadlines!
Caryl McAdoo Find a good writers' group and be faithful to it. God led my husband and I to the DFW Writers' Workshop in 1993. In six years, we got our first contract. We were members there fifteen years before moving to Northeast Texas, and learned our craft through being mentored by a few great 'traditionally' published authors good enough to share their knowledge.

After being published by Simon and Schuster, I've gone independent myself and love the freedom and control it affords me. Still though, being traditionally published gives an author a certain 'badge of recognition' that says, 'this one has learned the craft and can pen a story that industry professionals have found worthy of publication.'

Find a group that scrutinizes your work and offers suggestions to improve it. A group that only pats you on the back doesn't help you get better at your craft. I know it may hurt a little, but toughen up, listen hard, and consider every comment. Not all will fit, but many will! :)
Caryl McAdoo Being able to give God glory through my stories going all over the world is the best aspect of writing. I love creating good, clean novels as my service through Him benefiting His Kingdom on earth. Not all my earlier stories fit the bill, but since 2012, I'll never write another that doesn't!
Caryl McAdoo Doesn't happen often, but when it does, I've found it's usually because I've jumped ahead and gone down a path of my own understanding. I usually just back up and let the Lord--through my characters--go in a more comfortable direction :) Blessings!
Caryl McAdoo Thank you so much for asking, Anita! I'm so glad that you enjoyed HEARTS STOLEN and hope you'll read the rest of the Texas Romance series! I so appreciate your kind words and compliments, especially the ones regarding spiritual ways. 'I pray my story gives God glory!' is the tagline I've adopted for all my books!

In response to answer your inquiry, as in life, all questions are not answered when we might wish...all tied in a neat package. Wallace's choices and more of his life are revealed in HOPE REBORN, book three and again in my recently completed book six JUST KIN. It debuts in January, 2016.

While each novel in the series is a stand alone, I love sagas. Currently, I have several more books written or planned that carries this family and their extended families all the way into 1950, up to the third and fourth generations.

But you aren't alone! :) Several readers haven't particularly liked that I ended without 'tying' up Wallace and Laura, evidenced by some of the reviews, but this wasn't their book...it's Levi and Rose's story. And while I love my hero's sidekick and the young, uneducated seamstress, neither are major players in the series though both are mentioned in almost every book and may have several other scenes in years to come.

I hope you'll enjoy all the stories, and if you ever have a question I don't eventually answer, let me know! :) Hugs and blessings! And many thanks to you again! I love visiting with readers!
