Mimi Matthews Thank you so much for reading my books and for listening to the audiobook versions! My books with Berkley/Penguin Random House are all dual narration. I believe Alex Wyndham will be narrating my next Somerset Stories book, though (The Governess and the Rogue). I'll have more news on that soon. ❤️
Mimi Matthews Thanks so much for reading Return to Satterthwaite Court! Yes, Jack Beresford will be getting a story. It will be out in the first half of 2025!

xx Mimi
Mimi Matthews Thanks for your question, Maggie! I'm so glad you've been enjoying my stories. My portrayal of disability and chronic illness is inspired and informed by my own experience. I broke my neck many years ago and have had to have several cervical spine surgeries, resulting in reduced mobility and chronic pain. A lot of my characters deal with similarly traumatic injuries where they have to come to terms with a new kind of life. Some of them are initially reluctant, either to rehabilitate an injury or to accept their limitations. I can personally relate to that struggle, along with the depression that often comes with it.

Hope that answers your question! xx Mimi

Mimi Matthews Thanks for your question! Giles's story is resolved in book 2 of the Parish Orphans of Devon series, A Modest Independence. xx
Mimi Matthews No firm plans at the moment, but I'm sure I will eventually. I just have to be really intentional about it so readers know what to expect! xx

Mimi Matthews Hi Faye! Thanks for your question. No, Julia's aunt isn't her mother. Her aunt was just sympathetic to Julia's situation (and disapproving of Julia's parents). xx
Mimi Matthews Yes, that's my author email address. Unfortunately, I'm incredibly behind on emails right now (in some cases 8-months behind--eek!). So sorry for the delay in responding to messages!
Mimi Matthews Thank you for your kind words. I'm so glad you've been enjoying my stories! Yes, Arthur and Philly play a prominent role in Return to Satterthwaite Court. Valentine and Tristan's story takes place in the Victorian era, however, so the timelines don't match up to include them in RTSC, unfortunately. xx
Mimi Matthews Great question! There's no concrete plans for him as yet, but I do have his story in mind and would love to tell it one day, either in a full-length story or a novella! xx
Mimi Matthews Great question! Julia's mother mainly used illness as a way of asserting her independence. It allowed her to live separately from her husband and to travel where she liked (under the assumption it was good for her heath). I believe it was feigned to begin with, but over time became real in some respects.
Mimi Matthews I'm so sorry for taking so long to get back to you! The short answer is that the foreign rights in those territories have recently sold. Until the new publisher's editions are released, the old editions in those countries are temporarily off the market. I apologize for any inconvenience in the meanwhile. xx
Mimi Matthews It hasn't been published. I doubt it ever will be. But if I ever change my mind and release it under a pen name, I'll let everyone know! xx
Mimi Matthews Great question! I did think that the two of them might make a great couple. No plans as yet, but perhaps in a novella one day! xx
Mimi Matthews Hi Eman! That novella actually turned out to be A Holiday by Gaslight! The story is still about a broken engagement, but the breach of promise suit ultimately didn't make it into the final draft. xx
Mimi Matthews Hi Diana! SIREN isn't a retelling. I don't consider BELLE a retelling either, actually. But it definitely has nods to certain legends and fairytales, as well as to three specific historical novels. xx
Mimi Matthews I'm not 100% sure yet (nothing has been finalized), but I can tell you that my publisher held auditions for both Ahmad and Evie, which was really exciting. Hopefully I'll know more soon! xx
Mimi Matthews Hi! Audible should be releasing the audiobook version on July 20, the same day the ebook is released. I don't know yet who will be narrating, unfortunately, but I'll keep you posted! xx
Mimi Matthews Not at present, but you never know!
