I think reading bad writing/books has always been my inspiration. I read a bad book in a certain genre I like, and think, "Man, I could do one soooo much better." So I begin brainstorming and creating a plot, sub plot, characters, and a whole story in my mind. It doesn't take long. Maybe a few weeks at most and I'll have written an entire 600 page novel in my mind.

I am currently working on promoting my two current novels, as well as as a new clothing line, www.ourthingapparel.com, that I launched this year and has become wildly popular in only a few months. I also play to publish another of my novels sometime this or next year, depending on how busy I am.

Read, in the genre that you intend to write. And NEVER limit yourself to a "box." Use your creativity to guide you. Nobody cares about a "small" story, so make it BIG, as to entertain and help them escape fro the world they live in. Never give up on your dreams to be a writer. I spent 13 years in prison and still knew I would someday get out and be a successful writer. And here I am. If you know you have the gift, USE it. The world needs more great writers.

Everything. It brings me such peace to do what I love and. But I think the very best thing is entertaining my readers. I love taking their minds on a journey using nothing but words. I can make them laugh, cry, experience love and absolute anger. That's what I love most, when my fans tell me how they felt like there were "there in the story." I love that!

Honestly, I have never experienced writer's block in 13 years of being a writer. For me, once the creative juices start flowing on a story, it really comes easy for me. It's like breathing. I rarely pause for more than several seconds when I come to a "fork in the road" when I write.

I grew up in a Sicilian family with ties to organized crime. The main character, like myself, is of mixed lineage, and therefore struggles with his own identity and place within the family. That's something I could very much relate to in my own family. I came up with the characters and premise of this novel while serving thirteen years in prison for extortion, bank robbery and other crimes. God has blessed me with a unique gift of writing, and I used my years in prison to hone and polish that gift into the nine novels that I wrote over those thirteen years of my incarceration.
