Never never never never never never lack belief in yourself, because disbelief is lethal. I went through phases of disbelief while writing Strike of Lightning and that disbelief brought me to the point of giving up on it. Of course, I came back. I couldn't stay away from it for too long. And if there are those who don't believe in you, do not listen to them and do not let what anyone thinks get in your mind. There's nothing you can't do.
Also, don't stay with the same project. I had to learn that the hard way while writing Strike of Lightning. I never worked on anything else other than that project, thus that was what I thought about all the time. It was easy for me to write anything Sound of Thunder, but not so easy to work on something else.

This is a common answer, but anything I want to happen can happen, and that gives life so much color.

Gotta go with Katie and Alex in "Safe Haven" by Nicholas Sparks. Yes, I read Nicholas Sparks. My reasoning for this is their relationship shows us the power love and affection has over everything else. Katie is a girl who's on the run from a dark past that won't leave her alone, and Alex is a widowed man in a small town doing what's best for his kids. When the two meet, Katie is shy and distant, despite Alex's friendly attempts to build a relationship, but as time passes, Katie's fears are overcome with the help of Alex proving she is safe with him. Katie's past gets closer and closer, and she develops more fear, but Alex moves mountains for her and proves that there is nothing that can harm her as long as he's around, and that really does something to me.

I get two hours of writing in every day, and sometimes I will definitely get writer's block, and when I do, I just take a break. I'll do things that juice up my imagination like going on a walk and then get back at it for however much time I have. A good tip for avoiding writer's block I've learned is to segment the time you spend writing. I don't spend two hours straight writing, I break it up into chunks, some in the morning, some in the afternoon, most of it in the evening, It's what works for me. Everybody's different, though.
