hauntingly beautiful There’s so much truth in this work of fiction. The characters have left pieces of themselves in my heart. Though this is just a story, it should assure us that Gos uses all things for the good of those who love him (Romans 8:28). |

Magical So many thoughts as I close this book. The writing is beautiful, heartfelt, warm, and thought-provoking. Nobody’s lives are as they seem. We all have much to learn from each other. Though not nearly as prolific as Sybil, I, too, love writing r ...more |

“Let me make no bones about it: I write from the standpoint of Christian orthodoxy. Nothing is more repulsive to me than the idea of myself setting up a little universe of my own choosing and propounding a little immoralistic message. I write with a solid belief in all the Christian dogmas.”

“Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key to God's heart. You must speak to Jesus not only with your lips, but with your heart. In fact on certain occasions you should only speak to Him with your heart.”

Before I was a writer, I was a librarian, and before that, I was a researcher. Every history major is trained to be a researcher, and that was fine with me. Doing research has always been a favorite pastime of mine. That's why I'm so excited about my next book, Whispering Vines. It compelled me to do a lot of research, and what fun that was!Not only did I read a lot about World War Two and Italy, but I visited some incredible wineries and tasted many different Italian wines. I learned about the War in Italy, Italian culture, art and sculpture, grape harvesting, wine production, and wine tasting. It was truly a labor of love.
While in Italy, I learned about artist and sculpture, Robbia, and knew instantly that his work would play a key role in my book. Robbia isn't given the attention he deserves in the world of art, and I am happy to be able to introduce him to my readers. Find out more about Robbia and the making of fine Italian wine in my new novel, Whispering Vines, to be released in 2016. I'll let you know when you can pre-order it. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, keep reading!
Yours,
Amy Schisler
