#1 Bestselling Author Jessica Lauryn has been writing since before she could hold a pen! She always loved books as a child and, when she was six, watching soap operas with her mother, she fell in love with romance. Now a busy mom of two, married to her real-life hero, Jessica writes as often as she can, creating stories The Romance Reviews describe as having “Just the right amount of passion and romance!”

Jessica writes romance as Jessica Lauryn and erotic romance as J. L. Jade. Villains often reform in her novels and just may become heroes themselves!

Jessica makes her home in the rural northeast. When she’s not writing, she enjoys collecting antiques and finding beautiful, wooded areas to explore with her family. A passionate idealist, Je

Before I attempt one, I make a lot of notes, some of which becomes a part of my actual outline when I know what's going to happen in chapter one or at a later point in the story. My outlines are as extensive as I can make them on the first shot, including dialogue and lots of detail, the workings of a rough draft in one long paragraph that I begin to organize on the next round. One thing I generally don't try to do during the outlining process is show versus tell - this is where the magic happens, and I prefer to do this later as I'm polishing up - I work best when I can focus on one major function at a time. Clearly, I consider myself a plotter, but whatever I don't figure out from the beginning comes later, so I'm something of a "planster," a blend of a plotter and a panster, if you will. I imagine the majority of writers fall somewhere between the two extremes. As far as research goes, I've delved into everything from theater, to wiccan religion, gambling and how to restore a lighthouse 101. Research isn't my favorite part of the process but it can be very interesting - I'm amazed by something of the things I've discovered doing research for my stories. (less)

At 6, I was watching soap operas with my mother and the couples and wild plotlines prompted me to fall in love with suspense and romance. I participated in the Young Authors program at my grade school, but it wasn't until shortly after college graduation, when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, when I realized novel writing was something I had to try for myself. Always a sucker for a great romance, I read an actual romance novel for the very first time. The sweet, sexy story transformed me and opened an unearthed portion of my soul. (less)

Review of Jennifer Blake’s Seduced by Grace

★★★★ A romance novel unlike any I’ve read, and I’ve read MANY.  Jennifer Blake dazzled me with her creativity with this very unique “what if” premise.  What first surprised me was the relationship between hero and heroine.  I thought, after reading the first chapter, that heroine Lady Marguerite was meeting the infamous Golden Knight for […]

Jessica Lauryn I’m excited to be participating in the Easton Book Festival this weekend! Having spent much of last year planning my wedding, it’s been a long time since I’ve been a part of a big author event and this one won’t disappoint! Over 200 authors will be there, doing readings and book signings, hosting workshops and participating in panel discussions. I’m especially honored, as I’ll be doing a reading from A Sultry Performance!

Here's a taste of what's to come...

The cloud of blue smoke, emanating from the stage at the far end of the room, was a presence all its own. The mist was flashy—vibrant, exotic. It showcased the very prominent display taking place within its epicenter, an assembly of the most provocative dancers in all of Briarcliff Manor.

The seven long-legged women were dressed in identical ensembles, which did little to cover their breasts, rears or any other portion of their voluptuous figures. All but one stood at almost the exact same height, and each wore a pair of translucent high heels that caught the neon glow of the stage lights below. Drawn like moths to the enticement of their flame, the men seated around the room were all silent, many of them barely breathing as the blast of house music quickened the beat of their already-racing hearts. Among them, polishing off what had to be his fifth drink, Chris Gordon sat, staring at the woman in the center of the group, unable to take his eyes away.

Determining whether her abductor is actually her lover may be Alicia Coleman’s only chance of keeping her attacker from coming after her a second time...

♫ Currently # 3 on the BookStrand Publishing Bestsellers List!! ♫

On the heels of a major performance theater actress Alicia Coleman is attacked in an alleyway. She is struck over the head with a pistol and the blow causes her to lose her memory. Injured and afraid, Alicia struggles to remember the details of her life. The only person who appears to know who she is, is her presumed abductor, a man she fears may also be her attacker.

In the midst of several failed attempts to escape, Alicia comes to know the man whose home she awoke in and realizes that the two of them share a complicated past. Though Nick refuses to tell her much beyond her first name, a series of dreams, in which she and he are sharing a lot more than the second story of a secluded mansion, cause Alicia to suspect the most outrageous of possibilities—that the man holding her prisoner may actually be her lover. Surrounding threats, including that of a midnight intruder, cause Alicia to realize that proving her theory true may be her only chance of keeping her attacker from coming after her a second time.
