Both are set at a mysterious mansion on the Hudson River, with a mystery going all the way back to the 17th century that needs solving.

Then next summer I've got another linked free novella and big novel coming out (I think) in May and June of 2016. Both are wildly romantic, set in Boston, dealing with the complexities, joys, and heartbreak of relationships. Its about two cousins (Evelyn and Romulus) who grew up as tight as brother and sister. The novella features Evelyn's love story when she falls in love with a West Point cadet and Romulus gets his heart stomped. Then the big novel jumps forward 10 years later....and checks in on Evelyn and her husband while Romulus falls in love for a second time. This is the first time I've done this sort of love story with very young protagonists (18 and 22) then fast-forward to see them again in their late 20s and early 30s. (The big novel will be called "From this Moment" but I don't have a cover yet. (less)

For example, WITH EVERY BREATH was set in Washington DC, and I had a couple of scenes at the Smithsonian and the National Library of Medicine. I had to do some research to figure out what those places would look like in 1890....and so doing stumbled across some fascinating info about the Library of Congress, which was under construction. A-ha! The seeds for my next book were planted.

One of my biggest challenges as a writer is not to go too far down those rabbit holes while I am researching. My curiosity takes me all over the place, and I can usually stumble across some little-known but fascinating historical details I think are worthy of a book. After that I merely need to think up some interesting characters to plunge into it.

Thanks for asking!(less)

Elizabeth Camden answered Carol Weldon's question: Elizabeth Camden
Please forgive my late reply, Carol.... I am only seeing this question now. No, it was never part of a series called 'Council Wars.' When I originally write it, I intended Against the Tide to be book #2 in a trilogy. It was to be a sequel to The Lady See Full Answer
