She did want it published and was sending it out to publishers in the 1950's when it was lost. Her doctor and current friends where she has lived since she had a stroke in an assisted living apartment house and even her lawyer who was her sister Alice Lee (died very recently) said she wants it published and Harper told the social workers from Human Services who an old doctor friend (never her doctor) who hasn't seen her in years sent in accusing elder abuse when he heard about the book. She isn't senile. They found and her doctor also said she is quite sharp.
Not true. Alice Lee is on record in 2011 as saying Harper Lee is not mentally sound and hasn't been since her stroke in 2007, she's hardly likely to have got better. Also it emerged last week that her new lawyer lied about how she found the manuscript and that Alice and Harper knew about it when it was viewed by Southebys in 2011. Her lawyer claims she was sent out of the room at the time the manuscript was revealed. This is fishy in itself, she's either lying (as everyone else involved claims) or if she was deliberately sent out, why? Was sent out because they didn't want her to know about it's existence.
Lastly the book discovery was announced within 3 months of Alice Lee's death, Alice Lee the close sister and lawyer who always blocked any publications. More fishy timing.
People are obviously lying about this case so you need to ask yourself why, if it's all so above board.
