That's so exciting! How do you pick who to interview? Are people receptive to the suggestion or does someone set them up for you?
I find people to interview in all sorts of ways. Sometimes interviews are set up by other people. Sometimes I stumble on someone.
Well good luck with your next stumble! LOL... Do you have any ideas for your next work? Sorry had to ask, can't get enough...
I’m writing a novel based on my great-grandmother’s diary. She grew up on a homestead in South Dakota. Her family then continued west to homestead in Washington State. She got pregnant very young and had to get married. She and her husband (my great-grandfather) became itinerant workers, working from Alaska down to the Mexican border. It may sound different thematically and geographically from my other books, but I think it fits right in. I’m once again telling a moment of history through the eyes of women.
Wow! What an amazing journey for you personally. I also have ancestry in South Dakota! Some Scottish farmers. Rumor is its still out there somehow. My mom explored a little of our ancestry but I've never been out there. It is always surprising and amazing to me to see how much they persevered to get us here to what we are today. They were the cornerstones. I look forward to reading that! 🙂
