By What Standard? God's World… God's Rules Quotes Showing 1-14 of 14
“The foremost ideology that Christians in the West are facing today is Cultural Marxism. This is an adaptation of classical Marxism from an economic theory to a cultural and social one. Classical Marxism saw class conflict between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat—or the haves and have-nots. Cultural Marxism views such conflict as between the oppressed and the oppressors; between those with privilege and those without it. The working class has been replaced by minorities. Majority groups are defined as privileged and oppressive. Minority groups are regarded as underprivileged and oppressed.”

“In his classic book on Holiness JC Ryle wrote this: “The man who is content to sit ignorantly by his own fireside, wrapped up in his own private affairs, and has no public eye for what is going on in the Church and the world, is a miserable patriot, and a poor style of Christian.”31 (Holiness, 292). It is because I agree with Ryle that I write this chapter. I believe in the devil.”

“The Revoice Conference went wrong at just this point. Ron Belgau, one of the speakers, has written the following, “I believe gay sex is sinful, and that the desire for gay sex, though not itself sinful, is a temptation.”29 But the problem with this, of course, is that the desire is itself sinful. The tenth commandment makes plain that it is not only a sin to take your neighbor’s wife; it is a sin to covet your neighbor’s wife. Likewise, it is not merely a sin to engage in homosexual acts. It is a sin to desire to commit those acts.”

“Many well-meaning Christians are being played at precisely this point. They are in danger of adopting the operating principles of the world while thinking those principles accord with biblical kindness and justice.”

“They want Christians to believe this is about justice and equality. But it’s not. Take, for example, the Gay Liberation Manifesto of 1971. It said, “Equality is never going to be enough. What is needed is a total social revolution, a complete reordering of civilization. Including society’s most basic institution, the patriarchal society.”22 Along the same lines, there is the key leader in the second wave of feminism in America, Kate Millett. She was a homosexual woman and author who held meetings in one of which the following call and response were heralded: “Why are we here today?” “To make revolution,” the group answered. “What kind of revolution?” “The Cultural Revolution,” “And how do we make Cultural Revolution?” “By destroying the American family!” “How do we destroy the family?” “By destroying the American Patriarch,” they cried exuberantly. “And how do we destroy the American Patriarch?” the leader replied. “By taking away his power!” “How do we do that?” “By destroying monogamy!” they shouted. “How can we destroy monogamy?” “By promoting promiscuity, eroticism, prostitution, and homosexuality!”23 The goal of the sexual revolution was a complete leveling of authority. The adherents of the sexual revolution didn’t really hate men. They hated hierarchy. They hated order and objectivity. They did not hate fathers; they hated the Father. The agenda of the sexual revolutionaries is often lost on Christians. For example, a very prominent Southern Baptist pastor recently said in a message on homosexuality that to be like Jesus, “churches must be known as the friends of the LGBT community.” It is just here that our present challenge comes into high relief. Christians should certainly be friendly to LGBT people. Jesus was a friend of sinners. My family and I have had homosexual neighbors with whom we enjoyed a friendly relationship. But my concern is the claim that “churches must be known as friends to the LGBT community.” In our times, there is a world of difference between being a friend and being recognized as a friend by those who don’t know Christ. If your goal is to be known as a friend, you may end up being no real friend at all.”

“My point is instead that, generally speaking, grievous sexual sin is itself God’s handing over of those who have already turned away from Him to worship the creature. Consider Romans 1:18-32”

“Our sexually immoral culture is doing just the opposite. It is acting in accordance with first principles. A deep, systematic ideology spawned the sexual pollution all around us. And that ideology didn’t just start growing yesterday.”

“The answer goes deeper than you might think. Our current sexual perversion is the fruit of a false religion. This false religion worships the creature rather than the Creator”

“We live in days of sexual anarchy. We twist God’s design in every conceivable way, resolved to fashion a sexuality that is right in our own eyes.”

“Why do ideas like intersectionality from Kimberle Crenshaw gain such popularity that people use it like we know what it is? To understand intersectionality start with the hegemonic power: white, male, heterosexual, cis-gendered, able-bodied, native-born, American people. That’s the man. The man is keeping us down.”

“Gramsci argued that to change the cultural hegemony you must control the robes of society—judges, professors, pastors, and politicians. Leverage those positions to educate and mobilize the masses against the hegemonic power. Use the educational system, the political system, and the judicial system to overturn the cultural hegemony. Does that sound at all familiar?”

“Marx believed that history had three stages or epochs (the ancient stage, the feudal stage, the capitalist stage). He thought he was witnessing the rise, and would see eventually of the fall, of the capitalist stage. He also advanced the idea of class consciousness. Each one of these societal epochs contained internal contradictions. These internal contradictions are what would lead to struggle and would eventually lead to the next phase. Then came his idea of historical determinism. Ultimately capitalism would fall. Capitalism had to fall. Why? Because his view of history was one of struggle. History was a series of struggles or conflicts. He was a disciple of Hegel. So this was his dialectic (thesis, antithesis, synthesis). He envisioned the workers of the world would be uniting and revolting. His vision came to pass, but not everywhere. Toward the end of his life and during the life of his followers, they tried to understand and explain why capitalism didn’t fall. If capitalism is the exploitation of the masses, and if history is all about these conflicts, and if this conflict is going to come, and if the next thing that is going to come is a post-capitalist society, then why have we not seen it all come to pass?”

“First, Cultural Marxism and Classical Marxism are two different things. Karl Marx was an economist. Classical Marxism is an economic system. You have the bourgeoisie and the proletariat along with the familiar phrase, “From each according to his ability to each according to his need.” The goal was to produce the uprising of the masses to overthrow capitalism. Marx saw capitalism as oppressing the masses. He also saw religion as the opiate of the masses that allowed them to be oppressed by capitalism. He was rabidly atheistic. Most Christians would not identify with Marxism. That in part is why it is difficult to talk about Cultural Marxism. So we must mark the difference between the two.”

“In addition to his teachers, Obama’s position on certain issues betrayed Cultural Marxist proclivities. His homosexual agenda was a clear example. He was the most radical pro-homosexual politician that I had ever seen or experienced in the mainstream. His position on abortion and infanticide was radical. His position on judicial activism and hate crimes legislation was highly problematic. I said openly on many occasions that I believe this man’s presidency would make race relations in America worse not better.”
