Murder & Mayhem in Seattle Quotes Showing 1-1 of 1
“The district of choice was known as Skid Row or Skid Road. Originating around 1850, it encompassed Pioneer Square, which was beginning to expand from the core. Skid Road was built on a slice of land from the top of First Hill and down into the logging mill. The term “skid row” started in Seattle. As timber was sent down the hill to Henry Yesler’s mill, it left skid marks on the road.”
