“Spiced cider This recipe is really easy to make and perfect for wassailing. For a non-alcoholic drink, replace the cider with apple juice. You will need 3 apples, grated 1½ litres/2½ pints cider or apple juice 75g/scant ½ cup brown sugar ½ tsp whole nutmeg, grated ¼ tsp ground cloves 3 tsp dried cinnamon stick, grated 2 tsp fresh ginger root, grated Place the apples in a large pan and cover with the cider, then cook for about 5 minutes or until the fruit is soft.
