This quote could foreshadow something short later in the book. 4 pages later, Bode used a key he recently found to unlock a door, when he unlocked it, he came a ghost. Which could be that he's dead (because he's a ghost), however, the magic allowed Bode to turn into a ghost. This is connected to what Kinsey said because she told Tyler that Bode could manage to not kill himself in ten minutes, Bode then became a ghost.”
