“According to Jesus, her faith made her whole! Her faith made her whole! What a mighty God we serve. Do you think this pleased God? Was it a miracle? Was it any more a miracle than you kicking the smoking habit, prostituting, looking down your proud little nose at people, beating up your spouse, or extorting people? The same miraculous power of God to heal those who simply exercised the faith God had given them, is available today for healing, and most of all, deliverance from sin.”

“She touched Him! And, what happened next can only be described as a miracle. It was almost like an electrical charge left the Master, and gave her physical and spiritual batteries a boost. She knew immediately that she was healed. Twelve years of mourning, begging, pleading, paying, seeking, asking, knocking, and suffering immediately ended with a tiny little touch. What facilitated the touch? It was faith. Faith transformed a simple touch of a garment into a spiritual conduit through which omnipotence would travel.”

“My God! How could you allow this woman to get worse, when she is doing all she can to get better? What in the world is going on? Have you ever wondered the same in your sin predicament as you make valiant efforts to overcome temptation? Have you gone to teacher-after-teacher, and pastor-after-pastor, searching for a remedy to your addiction to drugs, stealing, illicit sex, liquor, gambling, or evil entertainments? Did you get better, or did you get progressively worse over the years? Well, this woman, now an outcast from Jewish society due to the fact that her vaginal bleeding made her ceremonially unclean, and excluded from attendance of temple services and many other regular activities, knew that the Master was nearby. With all the faith she had, she crawled through the crowd so she…could…just…touch, the blue hem/tassel of His garment. She believed that if she could simply touch the border of His garment. Which represented the Throne of God, and His holy Ten Commandment Law (Exodus 24:9-10; Ezekiel 1:26; Numbers 15:37-41), she would be whole. So, that she did!”

“Now that we have given a few basic examples of how this mysterious faith works, let’s really tune in to apply it to our eternal lives. The Bible says, “…without faith it is impossible to please him [God]…” (Hebrews 11:6). In the preceding verse, the Bible says that Enoch pleased God. The reason I even wrote this book was to target this very principle. So many, for many reasons, do not believe we can actually please God. And yet, the Bible says otherwise. Enoch, Abel, Abigail, Hannah, Esther, Mary, Job, Paul, and countless, unnamed people pleased God! How in the world did they do that? I must admit that I misled you with that question. The way they did that, that is, pleased God, was not of this world. They simply exercised the tiny little measure of faith that God gives to all people, to the point that they surrendered their will to Him, thereby growing their faith, and that faith took firm hold of the power of God unto salvation! Oh, my! Do you remember that we said that valid faith is well placed? Those who have saving faith that pleases a holy God, press through doubts, fears, anxiety, pain, trials, etc., to simply embrace God for dear life. When this kind of faith is active, it defies logic and facilitates miraculous changes in our lives.”

“Oftentimes, we encounter offers for things that are too good to be true. People offer us opportunities to start businesses for just one hour of work per day, with a guaranteed outcome of millionaire status by next year this time. All you need to do is pay the low, low price of $299 to get started. They have no product or services to offer; yet if you recruit enough people, you will be rich. This is too good to be true. Let me tell you, what I am offering in this little book is too good not to be true, friends! In fact, I misled you again. This is not my offer; it’s Jesus’ offer. In the book of Revelation alone, our God made astounding promises to those who overcome. He put His eternal reputation on the line to assure you that, with Christ living in you, by the power of the Holy Spirit, you will overcome. If this were not so, He would have wasted words, making promises to overcomers. Our God cannot lie. What He says, is so! Hallelujah! Ok, let me calm down and share several of the promises to overcomers:”

“Having taken a brief, essential look at faith, we now have the foundation set for overcoming. So many people have the bad, self-sabotaging habit of focusing on self and/or others to the point that they sincerely believe it is impossible to be an overcomer; I mean an actual overcomer. They recall the many times they have failed, and see the many times hypocritical people declare themselves to be holy, but have a graveyard full of skeletons in their proverbial closets, proving them to be religious liars. Thus, they say it is impossible to overcome. What’s wrong with this picture? In these cases, why will these people never overcome? It’s simply a matter of wrong focus, and an unwillingness to exercise miraculous faith in God.”

“What is substance? Is it real or imagined? According to dictionary.com, substance is, “That of which a thing consists; physical matter or material...The subject matter of thought, discourse, study, etc.” Of course, there are several other definitions, but these will do. How does this apply? When a person has biblical faith, that person’s mind and life activities are centered on the study of, grappling with, and apprehension of all that is seen in evidence given by God. It is of substance. We can handle it and experience it.”

“Let me share an invaluable verse of Scripture with you: The Bible says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7). Oftentimes, when people embark upon a conscientious journey of holiness unto God, we get the cart and horse out of order. Some of us waste precious time gritting our teeth, grunting, and trying not to do wrong things, as if godliness is somehow meritoriously found in abstinence. However, the Bible clearly states that surrender to God is key to our ability to resist the enemy’s onslaught. Do you see the difference?”

“Be ye holy; for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:13–16). No matter which version or Bible translation you use, verse 16 states God’s command for us to be holy, and immediately most professed believers think it is not possible. Some of the bolder ones believe that God’s command for us to be holy must take years of evolution to take place. After all, how can we be holy when we are so wicked naturally? Here’s the thing: If you don’t get anything else in this little book, you must recognize that holiness is not about you any more than God’s command for something to come out of nothing in the creation of the world was about you. The power and reason for our holiness is in His word/command. The ability to become that which God says, is resident in His word to the same. We will talk about this a bit more in the chapter on uprightness. All that is necessary for us to become holy is God’s omnipotent word, our God-given faith, and the miraculous outcome. Faith is the key to unleashing God’s limitless power into our lives.”
