“As a man I want to acknowledge in unequivocal terms that violence against women is a men’s issue – for men, young men and boys from every ethnic, racial and religious group all over the world. This scourge will not be eliminated until each and every one of us decides to do our part to make this happen. This includes boys and young men who need to make it clear to their friends and peers that misogyny and all forms of abuse are not okay, and you will lose status amongst your peers if you treat girls and women with disrespect in any way – verbally, physically or sexually.
