“There are no Demonic incantations in this book. I am not an expert on the subject, so if you were hoping to read this and be able to conjure up some demon, I can’t give you the knowledge on how to do it while on this plane of existence, or to send it back, which believe me, you WILL WANT TO KNOW A LOT MORE THAN HOW TO GET ONE TO SHOW UP.”

“As I sat and wrote line after line in one of the stories included in this book, I thought about the guy who wrote the Koran and the guy who wrote the Christian bible ( I know it was a great many people), and admired their resilience and skill at creating stories so incredible that they not only stood the test of time, but people took them as literal and believed them to be true, and still do today. They were guys just like me, pen in hand, and a bottle of wine on the desk. Maybe the woman would come in once and awhile and say that dinner's getting cold, and how much time are you going to spend writing when the kids need to go to practice? And the only time you spend with me is when we fuck....”

“By the way, there is no such thing as “Date Rape”. This is what, a softer, less violent version of rape? Rape 'lite'? Because it’s done to a passed out drunken co-ed in a dorm room does NOT make it any less of a crime. Rape is Rape, no matter what you call it. Treat it as the crime that it is. Call the cops. I’ll give you the number. It’s 9-1-1.”

“It is the lessons that we disagree with that force and challenge us to grow and learn for ourselves, and though the matter of spirituality and the afterlife are VERY grey areas, I hope that the thoughts I have on the matter will enlighten you, force you to reflect on your own beliefs, or piss you off enough to go and do your own research to find out if what I am writing is more relevant to your own life that you would like to believe. Be skeptical, ESPECIALLY of things you read and things you see on the news. Do your own research on topics you think are relevant to your life. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, at least THESE days they are. This was not so until VERY recently in human history, and it still isn't in many parts of the world. From birth, humans are trained to believe the things that their parents believe and their social group believes. There are some of us that didn't believe, and therefore didn't behave. I got into so much trouble I was no longer afraid to get into trouble, and this gave me freedom and fearlessness of thought that no one else in my school had. I am extremely grateful for the punishments I received for the crime of thinking for myself. I am thankful for being ostracized for being different. The only way to lead yourself out of the imprisonment of outdated modes of thinking and ancient beliefs is to cast away the old system, and them you can start to build.”

“so if an idea or quote interested me enough to include or expand on it, on these I credit the original author, or more so, give the name of the person who committed the offense, ESPECIALLY when I disagree or disapprove, for is it not on these disagreements that our own greatest thoughts are achieved? After all, if we agreed and believed and approved everything we read, we wouldn't evolve very far as a civilization, would we? And if we weren't allowed to disapprove (especially under the penalty of death) as was the case with the Christian bible for a thousand years, we wouldn't get anywhere.”

“She went on to say that these books were dangerous, and should be banned or at least restricted, but what is a kid going to want to read more than a restricted book?”

“I came to realize that finding WHAT it is you REALLY want is much more important than taking steps to attain it. This saves a lot of wasted time and energy. You will be surprised how many times you change your mind while seeking out that which you desire, and you will be surprised to find out that once you are really, truly able to find out your deepest wishes, you may already have what you seek, or the necessary skills and tools to attain it.”

“Conjurers, mediums, clairvoyants, soothsayers, those who hold black masses or seances, Tarot readers and Ouija board fanatics, those who practice witchcraft and majick are all practicing a form of prayer. After all, if you pray to a god of a religion such as Christianity or Hunduism, are you not asking your voice to be heard by a spirit or god from another world? Are you not asking them for something or giving thanks? I see no difference in a person attempting to contact ghosts looking for lost treasure and a person praying to their god to ask for health (and wealth!) or whatever it is they want. This being said, all forms of attempted communication with otherworldly beings have very strong similarities, and this is the sort of thinking I think people should get past. Putting the effort into solving your problems and creating a peaceful, co-habitable world, gaining the strength to get what you want, protecting you loved ones from harm should be YOUR responsibility instead of asking a god, spirit, your ancestors, or any other disembodied entity to do it for you.”

“We all beat ourselves up more than anyone else does. We all wish we could be that person who is not afraid of anything, who rises to every challenge seemingly unscathed. Guess what. They don’t exist. EVERYONE is afraid of something. The people who tell you, “I ain’t afraid of NOBODY!” are the MOST frightened, and that is the way they show it. If they didn’t perceive almost EVERYONE as a potential threat, they would have no reason to go around saying shit like that.”
