The Growing Dark - End of Seasons 1 Quotes Showing 1-2 of 2
“definitely not the only people trying to get on the highway… what now?” “The highway is pretty crowded,” Jack said, leaning over in his seat to look at the highway. “He’s right,” Charlie affirmed. “Looks like it’s not”
Mike Kraus, The Growing Dark - End of Seasons 1:
“Charlie’s back was against the barn doors as he continued to shout, the sound of Steven and Jack moving around inside finally reaching his ears. His relief was short-lived, though, as above the advancing fungal mass, clouds of spores rose into the night air. The particles caught in the flashlight's beam like dark snow, their movement patterns slow and sluggish in the lack of anything more than a slight breeze. The flamethrower fell from Charlie’s hands, banging against the barn door as the shoulder strap caught tight on him, one hand scrambling to pull his mask up over his nose and mouth while his other held the flashlight on the fungal growth that continued to advance toward them. Charlie continued to ignite the flamethrower, his motions growing more frantic by the second, but they produced only useless sparks as clouds of spores floated above the cornfield and the fungal mass continued to spread on the ground, slowly, inexorably closing in on the house and barn. Death itself had arrived, sickle in hand, intent on taking them in its grasp and squeezing every bit”
