“So the ultimate dilemma is this: Everything has its meaning given in terms of its context; but ‘the whole’ has no context, therefore it can have no meaning. That does not imply that we can prove that the universe has no meaning in any absolute sense – for to do that one would need to see it in context (which we can’t do) and show that it was not connected with its context.
