“This concept of a storm containing a message from God is clearly illustrated in the life of another Old Testament prophet, Ezekiel. Ezekiel had been taken captive by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, then discarded to live in a refugee camp. I truly believe that was God’s message in the storm. But I don’t think God’s people, generally speaking, got it. Not yet — because our hearts are asleep. Sometimes we need to be shaken awake.”
