“فإنَّ العبدَ صعيفٌ ، والزَّمانُ صعبٌ ، وأمرُ الدِّينِ متراجعٌ ، والفراغ قليلٌ ، والشُّغلُ كثيرٌ ، والعمرُ قصيرٌ ، وفي العملِ تقصيرٌ ، والنَّاقدُ بصيرٌ ، وإلى اللَّهِ المصيرُ ، والأجلُ قريبٌ ، والسَّفرُ بعيدٌ ، والطَّاعةُ هي الزَّادُ فلا بدَّ منها وهي فائتةٌ فلا مردَّ لها ، فمن ظفرَ بها . . فقد فازَ وسعدَ أبدَ الآبدينَ ، ومن فاته ذلك . . فقد خسرَ مع الخاسرينَ ، وهلكَ مَعَ الهالكينَ”

“فَالْقَلْبُ إِذنْ مَوْضِعُ نَظَرِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ، فَيَا عَجَباً مِمَّنْ يَهْتَمُّ بِوَجْهِهِ الَّذِي هُوَ مَوْضِعُ نَظَرِ الْخَلْقِ ، فَيَغْسِلُهُ وَيُنَظِّفُهُ مِنَ الأقْذَارِ وَالأَدْنَاسِ ، وَيُزَيِّنُهُ بِمَا أَمْكَنَهُ ، لِئَلاَّ يَطَّلِعَ مَخْلُوقٌ فِيهِ عَلَى عَيْبٍ ، وَلاَيَهْتَمُّ بِقَلْبِهِ الَّذِي هُوَ مَوْضِعُ نَظَر رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ، فَيُطَهِّرَهُ وَيُزَيِّنَهُ وَيُطَيِّبَهُ ، كَيْ لاَ يَطَّلِعَ الرَّبُّ جَلَّ وَعَلاَ عَلَى دَنَسٍ فِيهِ وَشَيْنٍ وَآفَةٍ وَعَيْبٍ ، بَلْ يُهْمِلُهُ بِفَضَائِحَ وَأَقْذَارٍ وَقَبَائِحَ ، لَواطَّلَعَ الْخَلْقُ عَلَى وَاحِدٍ مِنْهَا ، لَهَجَرُوهُ وَتَبَرَّؤوا مِنْهُ وَطَرَدُوهُ! واللَّهُ المُسْتَعَانُ .”

“O lower self, which is better, the Garden of eternity or a glimpse of this world's unlawful bounty and its wretched, fleeting rubbish? You are capable of obtaining that permanent blessing in exchange for your worshipful obedience, so do not be mean in your aspiration, vile in your intention, and base in your deeds. Look at the doves when they fly aloft, and see how their worth ascends and their value increases! You must raise all your aspiration heavenwards. You must not waste what you have gained by your worshipful obedience.

You must therefore pay close attention, O miserable wretch, and beware of being among the deprived.”

The present age is worse than their age. Hazrat Imam Ghazali (RA) has given this account about the 5th century A.H. Now consider what is the condition of this age. How necessary is it to seek safety from the evils of the times, to reform ourselves and take to privacy and seclusion.”

None can advise against using things which are necessary to maintain health so necessary for keeping body and soul together and for devotion and worship in the path of Exalted Allah.”
