I'm really sorry but if the only reason people are comparing WM to Ghibli is when Kei mentioned My Neighbor Totoro then I will be floored.
This book (as of right now) isn't anywhere near as hopeful as Ghibli films. Whimsical? Sure! But imho even Graveyard of the Fire Flies had more optimism than WM so far.
Don't get me wrong that does not make this book bad by any means but the G comparison is such a **Stretch.**

Also the cozy comparisons?????????????????? Eh?!!!!!!!! idk if I'd call this "cozy." Again whimsy is great, but it's much more mysterious and we pretty much jumped into a high stakes slightly unsettling scenario. Again! Totally dig the book but idk about some of the takes on this book. Cozy to me is like very low stakes or framed in a way that implies "everything will be alright."
