It’s very hard to get through the Iron Rain chapter. I’m not sure if I’m just not concentrating, but for an action packed chapter, I should be able to get through it easily! I keep taking breaks. It’s hard to understand what’s happening, and visualize their fighting. I feel like part of the issue with this book is that it doesn’t explain the world too well, leaving me confused and it’s hard to imagine

At first I was like “Leave Lorn alone. He just wants peace and quiet, Darrow” and “how on Earth are they going to redeem Tactus again”. JUST WHEN HE WAS REDEEMED IN A BIG EMOTIONAL MOMENT, LORN JUST STABS HIM!?!? Come on man!! I thought you wanted peace! I guess Tactus couldn’t fully be forgiven, but still! Also comparing an explosion of bodies to dandelions is crazy. Cool.

I can see why people complain that Darrow essentially has no flaws and gets what he wants. His traps and plans work perfectly even before the reader knows what they are. That being said, I don’t mind it. I don’t mind that things work out for him, unexpected stuff still happens and I am rooting for him. I think it’s impactful that he often wins because of his mind, the only thing left from when he was a Red.

Action packed! Some of the action scenes are a bit confusing for me with the fictional terminology, I get the message and it’s still cool. So far, getting lots of new character development (like Servo, Eo’s last words and Darrow’s decision surrounding his old mission). Makes me excited to keep reading. I’m really enjoying the book series, despite some confusing language. Love the all the characters a lot.
