I am seldom moved to write a review of anything but this one is truly awful. I have read thousands of books from many cultures and have rarely had to stop before I've finished one. I have only got to page 65 but it is so full of superstitious bigotry and unbelievable cruelty that my anger and frustration with the characters has made me stop, it is one of only two books I have felt like destroying.
