Anne is kinda starting to annoy me but also I know that the social contexts and norms are different esp with gender, medicine, and marriage/divorce. But she’s taking Leslie’s agency and power away by trying to keep Gilbert from talking to her about Dick’s possibility in recovering and improving his quality of life.

Now that this is no longer about childhood I have many bones to pick. Gilbert being a victim blamer disappointed me. Cornelia being a man hater is fun but also annoying bc she attributes all the “faults” of the men around her to them being “just like a man,” which strips them of any accountability (and also just her saying frank self exiting was “just like a man” left a bad taste in my mouth)

Excited for this bedtime story. I requested it :D I hope they are doing this book bc I asked for it. I loved the other 3 Anne of green gables books on sleepy bookshelf.
