Even though I just started this book, I'm still wondering what time period this book takes place in. My guess is probably the late 90s or early 2000s since there has been a mention of a discman. But so far, I'm really liking this book. It's pretty easy to understand, it doesn't over-detail things or stay on a side character too long. 8.5/10 (for now)

Sam took Melissa to her first metal concert, ever. She meets some of his other friends and says that they are somewhat creepy. I really hope that they become a problem in the future for the main characters

I really love how Sam was brave enough to confess his past to his girlfriend (Melissa) and told her that he's willing to give up his bad habits for her and that she is willing to try out some of his favorite things to do.

The whole time I was reading Chapter 4, was how did Sam (the main character) know what exact songs to put in his CD mix. Since he's making the mix for a girl he likes, Sam chose very specific songs to put in. For example, soft rock, metal, hardcore metal, emo, etc. I don't know, I found it interesting.
