I asked this author about the safety (specific) of her books including the upcoming one. The author said the books are safe. But when I checked the new released book, the h was raped many times in the past and she was sexually abused, almost raped at the start. And now, I don't know what to feel about it. :(

Did you ask about rape specifically? If so that's kind of misleading of the author. Maybe she thought you meant rape taking place in the actual book (not before?) In any case sorry that happened to you. :(

You're right, maybe she meant rape taking place in the actual book and not before that but there's also the attempted rape in the beginning of the book. (view spoiler)

I haven't. I just usually ask other reviewers, but I don't see a problem with asking an author. I'm sure 99% of them wouldn't mind and would answer no problem. :)

I usually ask if I really like their books and want to just auto-read them.
I have asked an author about safety and she answered honestly even though her answer kept me from reading the book. There are other safety gang people that have asked authors questions too. I think there have only been a few authors that didn't answer.

It's good to know I'm not the only one who ask questions. Lol.
