Definitely NOT a high fantasy, I'm having trouble imagining it as fantasy at all if it weren't for the magician. Very well written though and good for political intrigue.

I *am* enjoying this but at the moment I am having trouble concentrating on it fully, so taking a slight break to read something else.

Tried reading this coming back from London at the weekend and I just couldn't concentrate at all.

Wouldn't necessarily call this high fantasy as it has been suggested by the blurb. Political unrest in a fantastical world yes, with a dragon and unicorn. I'm liking it though, but so far, high fantasy it is not.
