Mid-book review: as of right now this one is at 4.5⭐️ for me. The post-apocalyptic alien invasion and survival story gives me a mix of A Quiet Place and The Last of Us. The MC is an army veteran/English teacher but when all hell breaks loose, his army training kicks in and stays in (they live in necessity). There is a story of cyclical human destruction/hate. I also love that it’s written in modern language.
