Not light reading. I took microbiology, genetics, immunology, biochem, etc in college, but not cell biology, so this book helps make up for it a little. Update on science: the author mentioned the formerly popular notion of "junk DNA." That theory is showing itself to be junk, e.g. for the non-protein intending portions of the DNA are increasingly demonstrated to be necessary for microRNAs in DNA management.

It didn't fit my schedule to take cell biology in college, so here's my chance to make up for it a little. I don't care what the author says, although he freely writes of the wonders of the cell, God is great. If you like fabulous machines, you just might dig this.
