2nd story: The Painter of Dead Women, by Edna W. Underwood. The editor states in the introduction that it is often categorized as a Horror story. It is that, but I can see why he considers it an SF story as well. I liked it and the strange circumstances were not explained away as delusion as in the first one, but rather given “scientific credence”.

First story, “When Time Turned” an award winning story by Ethel Watts Mumford. Predates The Curious Case of Benjamin Button by 10 years and explores a similar concept. 4 stars.
