There was a mirroring of final scenes for Notch and Sofia that I liked here - and plenty of threads leading into the next book :)

Post-the climactic scenes now and I'm pretty satisfied with most of the choices I made.

For years now, I've been worried that read-through to Book #2 was poor, that I hadn't given enough reasons for folks to continue the story, but upon re-reading the ending, I don't think that's true.

Plenty of threads left to follow :D

Plenty going on in the previous 10%!

Pace has picked up - yet I found a few spots to inject a little bit of humour. (I think I should have pushed Sofia's emotions harder in a couple of scenes, though).

The threads are coming together now

I'm not sure that Amazon actually accepted the updated files I sent years and years ago - I've noticed missing italics throughout (sigh)

A lot more action in this section - and once again, I'm surprised at how early I've introduced characters who go on to become more important, later.

Enjoying Lupo's appearances here.

This far in, it's also clear how much my writing style has changed - not necessarily for the better, in some ways. In others, yes :D

Not sure I believe the character of Padin works anymore... oh well!

Enjoying Ain's storyline more, this time around, also. (Found a few missing words, though).

Keen to meet the Harbour Witch, again.

Already the cast is much bigger than I recall, which is fun - but means extra work for me, later :D
