I love how Bob is developing as a character. His moral code is being challenged every page as he and the animals face the storm and he is putting himself to the test. Bob carries a lot of self doubt as he goes through the challenges, but I’m hoping he starts looking at himself more positively because I think everyone is their own worst enemy. However, it’s usually unwarranted.

The emotions and tone of this book is so completely different than The One and Only Ivan. Of course because Bob is more of a tough guy and funny guy. I love Katherine Applegate’s ability to connect the reader to her characters in the first sentence! I’m already dreading finishing this series and we’re only on book 2.
