Another important protagonist in the book is Annabeth Chase who is 13 years old. She is the daughter of Athena who is the god of wisdom. She is a fearless girl that helps with Percy on his quests. She is very resourceful and has good ideas on how to help on the quests. She is a good fighter that seems to have a crush on Percy Jackson. She wants to be an architect when she grows up.

A minor character in the book is Tyson who is introduced in the beginning of the book. Tyson is a sensitive cyclops that is friends with Percy Jackson. Tyson ends up being Percy's brother because Percy and Tyson both had Poseidon as their dad. Tyson had saved Percy several times like when Percy played dodgeball with cannibals and when Percy fought a two-headed bull that would blow fire. Tyson cares about Percy.
