Finished the first character on Lebanon Christians. Knowing very little about Lebanon, I'm not going to take the portrayal of Maronites at face value, even knowing about Shatila and Sabra from other sources, but that portrayal was brutal.

Finished chapter on the state of affairs of Muslim communities before the war. I think I can see the problem now. Makes me reflect on Nassim Taleb, Lebanon Civil War as an example of "black swan" no one could imagine or predict. What was a stupid example. Lebanon was more of a huge bong with a glowing red display counting minutes down before finally exploding.
