The "Ix"(a creature from the book; it has no physical body) is attacking ,and They can change people's mind. Now, they are creating creatures from deadly substances to attack. It seems hopeless but they have to stop them somehow. It reminds me of a alien attack or something like that.

I can't believe that David got killed! But there is several more books in the series, I doubt that David is really dead. Without David, I don't think that the book would be as exciting.
