Preliminary thought that as an ex NJ Chinese American child pianist… I find the racism described a little flatter than reality cuz the protagonist is a single Chinese girl surrounded by white ppl bullying her, while irl the children’s classical music scene is 80% Asians (equally toxic with internalized white supremacy). Also there aren’t any fleshed out relationships/characters yet
