The book and murder mystery is coming to a close where it is obvious for Poirot whether he follows the pledge he made when he became a detective or does what he feels is humanly right. Poirot has to make this decision because all the people on the train where culprits in the murder and he along with everyone on the train feels as if the murder is justified
