I really hope we get more of Kosika and Tes, they are fascinating characters. Not just because one is an Antari and the other is the rarest of magicians, but just in their personalities, their hopes, their dreams, their intricacies. Kosika especially, with White London not decaying like I’d expected it to after Hollands death. And Tes, well, she has Pandora’s box now, so let’s hope she’s responsible with it.

Ah, so that’s one of the three leaders of the Hand is. I never trusted her. Well at least Berras is dealt with. Still don’t know their ultimate plan, but I suppose two books still remain to be written. This was truly excellent. It took some time but once it sinks it hooks into you, this book does not let go. It was good seeing everyone from ADSOM and Im looking forward to what comes next.

Wow I wasn’t expecting Tes to do that. But what Lila said gives me hope. Maybe she can mend his magic. Ah, one can hope.

Using Tes’ near death experience to ‘flash’ her life before our eyes is a great storytelling technique. I can imagine people complaining about the ‘bloat’ of the flashbacks, which I could maybe see for a few. But overall, the flashbacks add extra layers to the character which I appreciate. Also *SPOILER*

That Holland ghost, is not Holland. I’m calling that now. If I did already, calling it again.

My god, this is good. *SPOILERS AHEAD*

So we know one of the three pulling the Hands strings is Alucard’s piece of shit abusive brother Berras. Who the Lady is and the Master of the Veil, who knows. But their goal? Beyond a throne, what *is* their goal? I guess it’s a trilogy so we’ll find out eventually. I just want these books to come out quicker sob

Im curious to see how Tes ties into all this. My guess is her abilities to perceive and manipulate threads of power might help with Kell’s issue. But we’ll see. That aside, I just love these characters. I’m kinda sad the merchant’s son is a goner already, thought he’d be more important. But I suppose he played his part and was disposed of.

Wow, that chapter with Rhy was… great. When the sword plunged in I thought well, guess it’s over. But no, I guess the way his and Kell’s bond works, Rhy is immortal or damn near close to it. The Unkillable King is a fitting moniker.

Well, that was a lot of flashbacks. Almost an overwhelming amount but I suppose we need to see how Kell is doing after a Conjuring of Light. Magic is still pain for him, but he’s trained himself into a weapon all his own. Glad to see he and Lila are still enjoying one another. The stage is being set for well, everything.

Very interesting so far. Opening the book where the last one basically left off felt fitting. Poor Holland. Kosika will obviously be of some importance, if she’s worth a POV. I’m excited, it’s been so long
