Trying to finish this before I go on a plane...but alas I don't see how that's possible :(. I've read this book through so many ups and downs in my life this year, just wild.

Enjoying how dark it is, but also how it is basically a dark comedy as well. Such a good balance between the two tones - it strips the plot back just a bit to have these nice character moments. Good stuff

Life currently falling apart and my soul has been crushed into millions of pieces, but at least I am having a better life than the people in this book right now

Prepping for my D&D campaign by finally reading this while on a treadmill. The narration goes so hard

Welp I finished the last chapter of Part I...now I see why this book has the reputation it has. That was epic. The plot is a little lost on me in some parts, but it more than makes up for it with its characters. Very few times has a book made my heart absolutely accelerate with its description of battle.

It picked up real fast. Starting to see what the hype is all about now once the inciting incident hits.

This is already screaming "will finish but won't read the sequel". My main complaint is the amount of dialogue that is used - which is a weird complaint, but there are more interesting ways of conveying character. That's why the Glotka chapters are interesting, they show his thoughts and there's irony in his actions. Just what I've observed thus far.

Trying my hand at reading fantasy without an adaptation again. So far, this book is fine. Glotka chapters are good because they hint at something larger. Logen chapters are violent and that's all I can really say. I don't recall being super impressed by anything in the book - but it's barely begun so who knows. Listening to an audiobook alongside and the performance is really good.
