Let me provide some context for my weird rant just now: this confession scene is a fat mess and a stark reminder that yes these are seventeen year olds and I’ve definitely outgrown this stuff.

Like the horror stuff is cool and all but I cannot for the life of me get through this melodrama.

I figured it out! I hate stupid protagonists. And this fuck is so fucking dumb and like sure he’s fucked up and I respect that but I can’t respect being this dumb. Like how hard is it to say “I would decapitate the both of us and bury our heads in the same pit in the dirt but I don’t want to see your penis.” Goddamn fool. And then to bring up the sister? The one you’ve hated the whole book? Shut up dawg

lana’s cool but she kind of sticks out like a sore thumb …. kind of like bryce. they’re these high school contemporary archetypes dropped into a creepy fantasy so it’s a little weird when they pull up.

i feel very bad for dove. i know there’s a mystery w her that we’re not gonna know about until later but andrew is stupid if he thinks he’s not mistreating her … and idk her bitchiness just feels off
