So far, so great! It's a good read with nostalgia from the previous books (and how far the characters have developed since then) mixed in with new characters and events. I might re-read this book again once I'm done with it, since a lot of stuff flew over my head for now ;p

The story is mostly now back in Darujhistan, and with Kruppe and Iskaral Pust in the same book, I'm going to biasedly love it! One of my favorite parts: "Looking back over one shoulder, Iskaral Pust, Magus and High Priest of Shadow, bhokaral god, made faces at his worshippers." The bhokarala then followed him around and mimicked everything he does lol

This was the only dip in the quality of the series for me. It was a little low point. Not to make too much of it though, because books 9 and 10 are amazing!
