P. 76: How she cried as the ferry made it's slow way through the water, reddening her eyes and swelling her lids, but by the time she took the three buses home, she was smiling as if nothing had happened. Her husband had sent her son away. Now he belonged only to her. Now her sorrow belonged only to her. For the first time, she thought that early, she had something of her own.
