Sobering chapter on the challenges of raising kids in our current culture.

Great chapter on disciplining children. Gave us some hows and whys along with a few practical tips. Still loving how fresh it's feeling, despite being a topic Wilson has addressed many times in the past.

Great chapter on untethered empathy. Makes me excited to read Rigney's full treatment of the subject soon. And vital for parents to understand in this, the year of our Lord 2024.

Chapter Two is excellent on the foundations of parenting—you must get your own heart right first. You must ensure that you are not be conformed to the world, but transformed by the Word. And in the midst of the principles, Wilson provides some great practical advice to start you on that path.

Great book so far, really liking how fresh it seems, given my experience with Wilson's parenting books at this point.

Great first chapter with a carefully thought through premise, arguments, and conclusion. Of course, there was that non-sequitur about baptizing babies, but otherwise a good bit on biblical anthropology, which seems like a helpful place to begin.
