My third time reading. Jane's childhood is a hell of a lot more depressing than I remembered it.

With Jane Eyre? Well, I was enjoying it immensely (I was reading it much quicker than any other classic I've read before, I liked it that much) when suddenly and quite ridiculously, I thought it would be a wonderful idea to take a quick peek ahead fifty pages or so. Of course, the one little line I read had to include a handful of words which convinced me that the rest of the book would be rather tragic and depressing. And so convinced, I put the book down and am terrified to pick it up again.
