I chose this book because my uncle recommended it to me. He knew that I like The Martian and thought that this would be right up my alley. So far, I really enjoy it. I am very intrigued by the title The Water Knife and a reviewer said that it is like the movies Chinatown meets Mad Max. A plot in which characters struggle through a world where water is more valuable than gold is definite bestseller in my opinion.

One of the main characters, Angel Velasquez, resembles a well-known female adventurer character archetype. She has and obtains elements throughout the story that show her fearlessness, tolerance, and determined features. Angel is like Katniss Everdeen in ways that she is a risk taker and does things she does to help her people. She is wise and humble like Princess Leia, but has the brute force like Black Widow.
