Our class just finished all three chapters of this book and it was "ok". it's basicaly about a women who is trying to find out what life is like for many americans that are paid small wages and sometimes work multiple jobs to live. Along the way she takes jobs such as a maid, waitress, etc. She learns alot along the way and develops mutual support groups with those she works with and learns alot about their lives.

I have read the introduction and the author is talking about a project where she will put herself basically in poverty conditions with some minor tweaks. This doesnt relate to my life in anyway but i see what shes doing as an interesting way to look at how other people live and how stressful it can be to be living paycheck to paycheck.
