Frightening. Learning about the Maori tribes in New Zealand. In the late 1800s If you were arriving from England as were these characters you better watch out. Reminded me of American tribes. Scalping and war. Terrifying.

Have read a good half dozen books by this author already, but have to say this is off to a crazy start. There is some Cannibalism! Awful!!!!!! Otherwise seems like a good book. Hope this people eating thing takes a back seat. 🤷🏼♀️
